I don't feel like the outfall of what happens in Dream no more versus The Hollow Knight would change Hornet's story in Pharloom unless TC really decides to get into the nitty gritty details of the environmental circumstances under which she gets abducted from hallownest, such as whether the infection is still around or not (which is probably the main difference between dream no more and the hollow knight), which could again impact new player experience of both silksong and hollow knight. Outside of what we know is definitely not happening (for reasons outlined above), the remaining endings could reasonably have little bearing on what Hornet does next, or what happens next, and could easily be written as such by TC. The thing I have with sticking to one ending is that. I think Embrace the void is also out of the question, this time for out-of-universe reasons, because having the silksong be tied to a DLC ending which the overwhelming majority of people have never even achieved would be highly controversial. If TC does choose to stick to one ending to build upon (which I suspect they won't if they want silksong to be more standalone, such that new players don't need the context of the previous game nor have it spoiled), it'll probably be Dream no more.
